pure energy.

This is a picture of my beautiful niece (second from left), and her girlfriends at the beach. Don't they just "ooze" energy? When we are kids and teenagers it seems like we have never ending energy and can run and play all day long. As we age our energy levels tend to decrease and we stop being as active, especially when we sit behind a desk for 8+ hours a day. So, besides getting regular exercise, here is a list of energy boosting snacks that will keep us revved up during the day.
  • fresh bananas and apples (loaded with vitamin c and antioxidants),
  • popcorn (high in fiber and whole grain goodness),
  • yogurt and cereal (sprinkle granola on top),
  • half a turkey sandwich (on whole wheat bread with mustard),
  • red peppers and hummas (lots of good carbs, fiber and protein),
  • soy crisps (5g of protein),
  • almonds and walnuts (packed with fiber, vitamin e and omega-3's).
Satisfy your hunger and get a pick me up at the same time!
